6x6 scrapbook page

I recently joined a 6x6 scrapbook page swap with some of my INKlings team-mates. I admit I struggle making 12x12 pages and since I don't print photos, I don't complete that many layouts. However I found the 6x6 page much easier to put together. Here is my page.
I used the Urban Garden dsp as my starting point and designed the page using not quite navy and kiwi kiss.

I background stamped the grass from the Inspired by Nature stamp set all over the not quite navy base with versamark ink, and used the outline alphabet stamp set to do my title. I cut around it and then mounted it with dimensionals. Here is a close up of the title.

I was really happy with my page and it came together really quickly. I think I might be going to make a lot more 6x6 scrapbook pages.

Next time, I have a swap card to share, so make sure you call back in a couple of days.

Keep on creating.

xx Nicky

Inspired by Nature

This is a card I made for one of the girls in my upline who recently had a birthday. I decided to use the beautiful Inspired by Nature stamp set. I started off by colouring the image with tangerine tango, rose red and always artichoke. I used a sponge dauber to blend the colours on the flowers so there wasn't such a line between them. I then stamped the image onto whisper white cardstock. After I had stamped the main image I stamped the grass in the background using the same always artichoke ink, which I stamped off first, so it was a more subtle colour.

I made the card base out of tangerine tango cardstock and then stamped the En Francais stamp onto the rose red cardstock with versamark ink. I matted everything with more white cardstock and then tied a piece of the tangerine tango ribbon around the bottom.

The card looked ok but I thought it needed a little something extra on it, so I coloured in the top of the flowers with my two way glue pen and sprinkled some dazzling diamonds over the top to give it a little bling.

This stamp set is so easy and quick to use as there is no colouring in and it takes up just about the whole card front.

I will have an easter card to share with you next time.

Keep on creating.

xx Nicky

We are moving!

Very exciting news at our house - we are moving. I am very busy packing and trying to purge unwanted items, not to mention all the crazy end of year committments we have, so things may be a bit quiet on the blog front over the next 3 weeks, but I will try and post as often as I can.

The card below is one I made for a friend who had to have an operation recently.

I used my new inspired by nature stamp set. I just love this set. It is so easy to make a quick card, as it is a very large image, which takes up most of the card front. For this card I inked the stamp with my markers, then used a sponge dauber to blend where the colours joined and then stamped it. Afterwards I used tombow adhesive on the top of the flowers and applied dazzling diamonds to make it sparkle. A quick couple of punches and a sentiment and the card was ready to send.

Here's a list of the products I've used. If you would like to purchase any Stampin' Up! products, please email me.

Keep on creating.

xx Nicky
