Welcome Baby Micah

My brother-in-law Andy and his partner Jade have welcomed another little boy into their family, a little brother for Joshua. This is the card I made for them.
I used the wash day wheel (which I borrowed off my good friend Kylie ages ago). I really like the simplicity of this wheel, and since I love colouring in, it was the obvious choice. I made the card base from brilliant blue card, and used some bashful blue with it. I stamped the baby's name with my jumbo outline stamp set and mounted it along the bottom of the card with dimensionals. I double stamped the overalls image and mounted it up on dimensionals too. Here is a close up.
I left the inside blank, just adding a strip of bashful blue cardstock along the bottom, and an all-in-one suit.
I was really happy with how the card turned out, and Jade and Andy loved it too.

Just a short post today as I have some first birthday invitations I am trying to get done. Hope you all have a fabulous day.

Til next time, keep on creating.

xx Nicky

Welcome, little one

After our team weekend away a couple of weeks ago, I have been so inspired. I have been on a bit of a creating frenzy the last week, so I have lots and lots to share. I am going to try and publish posts more frequently, we will see how I go ...

The card I have to share today is one I made for a friend who needed a baby girl card. It was CASE'd from one made by Belinda at our weekend away.

It uses the forest friends stamp set, with the "grass" at the bottom being one of the stamps from pocket silhouettes. I have also used the flower out of wild about you and the new flower brads which are in the Spring Mini Catalogue. The deer and bunny have been cut out and popped up on dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from nursery necessities at the top with the help of the stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure it was straight.

The stamp-a-ma-jig is one tool I reach for again and again, as there is nothing worse than finishing a beautiful card, with only the sentiment to add, then not putting it on straight.

Here's a list of the products I've used. If you would like to purchase any Stampin' Up! products, please email me.

Keep on creating.

xx Nicky

Supplies:

Stamp sets: Forest Friends, Pocket Silhouettes, Wild About You, Nursery Necessities

Forest Friends

I must apologise for the large gap between posts, with school holidays and school going back and at least one of us being sick over the past couple of weeks, things have just got away on me. We are heading away for a few days tomorrow, so hopefully we will all wake up feeling better in the morning.

My card to show you today is one I made for a recent team training day. It uses the new stamp set Forest Friends from the spring mini. If you would like a copy of the spring mini catalogue sent to you, please email me. There are lots of fabulous new products which are only available for a limited time.

For the card I have stamped the deer and rabbit, using my stamp-a-ma-jig for precise placement. Then I inked the tree in kiwi kiss and coloured in the branches and trunk with my chocolate chip marker. I masked off one side of the tree and stamped it. I then stamped the owl on the side where I had taken the branches off. I have stamped "welcome, little one" from the nursery necessities stamp set and then sponged kiwi kiss ink on the bottom of the card and baja breeze on the top. For the background on the card I have used the weathered background stamp on kiwi kiss card with kiwi kiss ink.

If you have any questions or would like to purchase any Stampin’ Up! products please email me.

Well must go and pack.

Keep on creating.

xx Nicky

Wow it has been over a week since my last post!

We have been away for the past week up to The Entrance on the beautiful NSW central coast. We had a great time relaxing, eating way too much and hanging out with the kids (I even managed to have a play with my new mini catalogue stamps).

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and we are back home and to the grindstone this week. It is an exceptionally hectic week for me, so I doubt you will be hearing from me again until next week when hopefully things will return to normal!

I made this card for a friend who had a baby girl a couple of weeks ago. I think if I made it again I would make it slightly smaller, as it is very large. I have used the candy lane dsp papers and the pram from the fun and fast notes stamp set. I stamped the pram directly onto the dsp and then popped the hood up to give it a 3d effect. I grounded the pram on the card by colouring under the wheels with sahara sand ink and a blender pen. The sentiment was from the nursery necessities set and was punched out with the small oval punch. A lot of layering, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Must go and make my 15 card in a box card kits for my training day on Wednesday!

Keep on creating.

xx Nicky
