Fun & Fast Notes Stamp A Stack

I can't believe it has been almost a week since my last post. School went back on Tuesday this week and I have found it very difficult to get back into the "swing" of things. We spent a lot of time sleeping late and just cruising the past two weeks, so trying to get out the door has been somewhat of a challenge all week.

I have the stamp-a-stack cards for my classes this month to share with you. I decided to use the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set. It is one that I like but I haven't used a great deal. I think what appeals to me most about this set is that there are eight different stamps in the set and they cover a wide range of different occasions (well and the fact that you can colour them in!).

I decided to make my cards all 4" by 4" so the stamped image takes up a lot of the front of the card. I wanted to use a colour scheme that went with all the greetings, so decided on the Holiday Treasures dsp, which uses chocolate chip, baja breeze, kiwi kiss and riding hood red.

I started off by making the card bases and then cut a strip of dsp, which I mounted on chocolate chip card. I stamped the image in stazon onto whisper white card and coloured with my blender pens and ink pads. I then rounded the corners, used the slit punch to punch the semi-circle from the right hand side, tied ribbon around and then mounted it all onto more chocolate chip card. I mounted the stamped panel onto the card with dimensionals.

Here are the baja breeze cards:

the confetti white:

the kiwi kiss:

and finally, the riding hood red.

I was really pleased with how they turned out, and think I might make a box to put them in and give them away as a gift.

I'm off to finish off a special birthday card, which I will be able to share with you soon.

Til next time...

Keep on creating

xx Nicky

Another baby card

This is the card I made for my friend Kylie when she had her gorgeous little girl Emily. Ok so it was a couple of months late, but better late than never I say.

I started off by choosing the pram out of Fun and Fast Notes and then decided to use the Bella Rose paper. It all fell into place after that - well until I went to get my Jumbo Outline Alphabet to put Emily's name on the bottom of the card - and realised Kylie had borrowed it, so I went with option two - which was white ribbon tied in a bow.

I did a lot of layering with chocolate chip card (my favourite). I stamped the pram onto some dsp and then cut it out and paper pieced it. This is a shot of all the layers on the pram.
I was really pleased with it once it was finished and Kylie liked it too.

If you would like to order this stamp set, or any other Stampin' Up! products, please email me.

Keep on Creating.

xx Nicky

Wow it has been over a week since my last post!

We have been away for the past week up to The Entrance on the beautiful NSW central coast. We had a great time relaxing, eating way too much and hanging out with the kids (I even managed to have a play with my new mini catalogue stamps).

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and we are back home and to the grindstone this week. It is an exceptionally hectic week for me, so I doubt you will be hearing from me again until next week when hopefully things will return to normal!

I made this card for a friend who had a baby girl a couple of weeks ago. I think if I made it again I would make it slightly smaller, as it is very large. I have used the candy lane dsp papers and the pram from the fun and fast notes stamp set. I stamped the pram directly onto the dsp and then popped the hood up to give it a 3d effect. I grounded the pram on the card by colouring under the wheels with sahara sand ink and a blender pen. The sentiment was from the nursery necessities set and was punched out with the small oval punch. A lot of layering, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Must go and make my 15 card in a box card kits for my training day on Wednesday!

Keep on creating.

xx Nicky
